The Meadow is a simple, easy-wearing mini dress cut from beautifully textured raw silk. Soft yet substantial, the natural slubs and variations of the silk give each piece an earthy, lived-in quality that feels especially at home with colour gathered from the garden.
Each Meadow dress is individually eco-printed by hand in my home studio on Salt Spring Island. Fresh cosmos and calendula are placed directly onto the silk before being bundled and steamed, allowing the flowers to leave behind their own impressions of colour, shape and pattern.
No two dresses will ever be the same. Each one is a small study of what was growing in the garden at that particular moment — a record of season and place, held in cloth.
Wear it simply on its own through the warmer months, or layered over a fine knit or beneath wool as the seasons begin to change. The beauty of raw silk is that it moves easily between seasons, becoming softer and more familiar with wear.

Caring for botanical colour
Botanical colour is naturally alive and evolving. Much like the flowers themselves, the colours and saturation will gently soften and shift with time, wear and washing. This evolution is part of the beauty of working with colour directly from the natural world.
To preserve your piece, gently hand wash in cool water using a pH-neutral soap. Do not soak. Hang or lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight, and avoid prolonged sun exposure when storing.
