The Ayla Slip is a light, effortless silk mini dress made for warm days, bare skin and slow summer evenings.
Made from 100% silk habotai, it has an airy, weightless drape that feels cool against the skin and moves beautifully with you.
Each dress is individually eco-printed by hand in my home studio on Salt Spring Island, using an assortment of flowers from my garden. The botanicals are placed directly onto the silk before being bundled and steamed, allowing the natural pigments of the flowers to leave their colour and impressions behind.
Each piece is entirely one of a kind, a little record of the garden, the season and the flowers that were blooming when it was made.
Wear it barefoot in the garden, over a swimsuit after a swim, or dressed up for slow evenings that stretch long past sunset. Simple, timeless and made to be lived in.

The Ayla Slip has a relaxed fit with adjustable straps and is designed to fall easily over the body. We recommend choosing your usual size for the intended fit.

Caring for botanical colour
Botanical colour is naturally alive and evolving. Much like a bouquet of flowers, the colours and saturation of your dress will gently soften and change with time, wear and washing. This evolution is part of the beauty of working with colour directly from the natural world.
To preserve your piece, gently hand wash in cool water with a pH-neutral soap. Do not soak. Hang or lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight, and avoid prolonged sun exposure when storing.
